Motor planning is an essential skill for all humans to survive and perform basic daily activities. Yet, there are a myriad of etiologies behind motor planning deficits, few of which we as therapist truly understand.
This course facilitates a deeper understanding of the neurological requirements for motor planning and how neurological deficits can impact motor planning. The course sheds light on how to develop strategies for improving movement patterns to improve day-to-day functioning in clients with poor motor planning.
Participants will gain specific treatment and compensation strategies to assist in motor planning issues, as well as an understanding of what can and cannot be changed. With this insight, the therapist will be able to better communicate to patients, parents and teachers of students, and to plan appropriate goals.
